Penna&Caffè! / Want to teach Creative Writing in Dubai?
« il: Giugno 13, 2018, 03:01:07 pm »
Hello,

I am a teacher starting an after school Creative Writing and Verbal Communication (think speeches and drama) class for kids out here in Dubai and was looking for some really gifted and creative writers/teachers to teach the classes. The job pays really well (if I do say so myself), will be a lot of fun to teach and will also give you enough free time to still work on your writing. Living in Dubai isn't too shabby either! If anyone is interested, please send me your CV to (Address removed. Please contact the WD advertising department for all your advertising needs.. Please mention any work that you've published. Teaching experience and qualifications are important, as experience working with children.

Penna&Caffè! / MFA in Creative Writing?
« il: Giugno 13, 2018, 02:59:09 pm »
Hello,

I am about to leave to teach for the Peace Corps for two years and was thinking of getting a MFA in Creative Writing after my service as writing is one of my passions and I would love the opportunity to take writing workshop classes for two years. However, my only concern is how much this might hurt my CV in the long run for teaching English abroad. I am already TEFL certified and will have work experience with the Peace Corps but will Creative Writing be seen as a substantial masters degree? Will it do anything for me in terms of increasing salary and the like? Or will employers prefer a Masters in Education or TESOL?

Please help

Problemi tecnici / Telo Slows Internet Way Down
« il: Giugno 13, 2018, 09:56:57 am »
Hello,

When using Telo as router to my computer and printer, Internet speed is dead slow. My service is Verizon 50/50. Through Telo, I get 17mbps down and .46 mbps up. That's right less than 1mbps uploads. When I run Telo off a switch connected directly to my Verizon modem/router, the speed is fantastic: 58 mbps down and 64 mbps up.

Please help

Problemi tecnici / no auto-reconnect after internet outage?
« il: Giugno 13, 2018, 09:55:53 am »
Hello,

My ooma telo is set up between the cable modem and router and typically works fine. Occasionally we will lose the internet connection like last night our cable went out. Once the connection was restored, the cable modem recovered just fine but the ooma was still flashing red. I had to manually power cycle the ooma telo for it to get a connection again. The router did not need to be rebooted.  I did a live chat with ooma support and the rep said this was normal. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there some configuration change I can make so that the ooma can just automatically reconnect?

Please help

Problemi tecnici / How to disable/destroy one key in a laptop keyboard
« il: Giugno 07, 2018, 08:05:52 am »
Hi,

Can somebody tell me how to disable/destroy one key in a laptop keyboard. I have an old compaq presario laptop that has an annoying habit of F1 key getting stuck, so whenever I start the computer it enters setup, I cleaned the keyboard with several methods I found on the web but after sometime the same F! key gets stuck. I want to permanently remove/ disable this key on the keyboard's hardware. (remapping the in widows wont help because windows wont start)
I've tried physically prying off the key....it didn't work, removing the keyboard cable necessitates an external keyboard, something very inconvenient, replacement keyboard is costly. I want to disable this one key alone.
I am thinking about something like selectively destroying the tiny circuit behind the rubber dome, but how this can be done safely without disturbing the remaining keys, I am not sure. Can someone help?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
